How to add a logo or watermark to a video
Attach the video and your logo and ask Recut to "put the logo in the bottom right". It places the image over the whole video at the position, size and opacity you choose, on your device and with no model cost.
Put my logo in the top left corner at 15% of the width, half see-through.
Step by step
- Attach the video and the logoA PNG with a transparent background looks cleanest.
- Say where it goesAny corner or the centre. The default is bottom right.
- Say the size and opacitySize is a share of the video's width (20% by default); opacity runs from solid to fully see-through.
- Run itThe overlay runs on your device. The result is a video of the same kind as the one you started with.
What Recut does
Recut lays the image over every frame with ffmpeg, keeping a margin from the edges (4% of the width by default) so the logo doesn't touch the border.
The same step works on images, so you can put the same watermark on a thumbnail or a product photo.
The positions are top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right and centre. You can ask in words ("small, in the corner, faint") and Recut turns that into the settings, which you can still change in the step before it runs.
Tips
- On TikTok and Reels, the bottom and right edges are covered by the app's buttons and captions. The top left is usually safer.
- A logo with a transparent background needs no box behind it. To remove a logo's background first, ask Recut to cut it out.
What it doesn't do
- The logo stays still for the whole video; it doesn't move or animate.
- This adds a visible watermark. It isn't a hidden or forensic watermark.
Try it on your own video
