Recut

Privacy Policy

Effective 10 October 2026

Recut is built so that your work stays with you. Your projects and files live on your own device, your provider keys are kept encrypted in your account and go only to the provider they belong to, and we keep no database of what you make.

Recut is operated by ZAPX SOLUTIONS LIMITED ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Recut Mac app, the web app at tryrecut.com/app and this website.

What stays on your device

What we receive

WhatWhyWhere it goes
Your name and email address, from Google or Apple when you sign inTo know which account is yoursHeld in a signed session on your device and in your billing record at Stripe. We run no account database.
Provider keys you connect (fal, Replicate, ElevenLabs)So your keys work on every device you sign in on, without being kept on any of themEncrypted (AES-256-GCM) under a key only our server holds, and stored in private storage at Vercel. When your device runs a model it fetches the key, keeps it in memory only, and sends it only to the provider it belongs to. Keys are never logged; settings show only their last four characters.
Subscription statusTo know whether your trial or subscription is activeStripe, our payment processor. We never see your card number.
What you ask the included agent: your message, the plan so far, short descriptions of your files, and small previews of results so it can check themTo plan and carry out your requestSent through our server to the AI model that answers (Google Gemini, or OpenAI as a fallback, through Vercel AI Gateway). We do not store it. We keep a count of your requests per day to enforce the daily limit.
Technical logs: IP address, browser or app version, the address requested, timeTo run the service, find faults and stop abuseOur hosting provider, Vercel, for a limited time.
Update checks from the Mac app: its version and your IP addressTo offer you a newer versionOur server at Vercel.
Usage events from the apps and the web app: which steps you reach (opening the app, signing in, each onboarding step, seeing the plans, starting a trial or subscription, sending a request, running a plan, saving a result), a few counts and labels about them (such as how many files or steps, the sign-in method, the plan, or the kind of result), your Recut user ID (not your name or email), a random ID for the install, the app version, platform, device type, screen size and language, and your country and region worked out from your IP addressTo understand which parts of Recut work and where people get stuckSent through our server to Google Analytics. Never your prompts, files, file names or results, and never your IP address itself. Kept for 14 months.

The apps and the web app contain no advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal information. We measure how Recut is used with Google Analytics as described above, with its advertising features and Google signals turned off; nothing from Google runs in the apps, and the events go to Google only through our server.

This website (tryrecut.com, not the app) can measure our ads on X (Twitter), but only if you choose Accept in the banner. X's pixel then sets a cookie and tells X that you visited and whether you clicked Download or Open in your browser, so we can see which ads work. If you choose No thanks, nothing loads. You can change your mind at any time with Ad cookies at the bottom of the home page. X handles that information under its privacy policy.

Model providers you connect

When a step runs on a model, Recut sends that step's prompt, settings and input files from your device to the provider whose key you connected (fal, Replicate or ElevenLabs). That is a direct relationship between you and the provider: their terms and privacy policies apply, and they bill you.

One exception in the web app: browsers cannot call Replicate directly, so those requests, with your Replicate key, pass through a relay on our server on their way to Replicate. The relay forwards them and does not store the key or the content. The Mac app talks to Replicate directly.
