How to dub a video into another language with AI
Attach the video and ask Recut to "dub this into Spanish" (or any language the model supports). Recut runs an AI dubbing model that translates the speech and speaks it in the same voice, then gives you the dubbed video.
Dub this video into French in my own voice.
Step by step
- Attach the videoClear speech with little music behind it dubs best.
- Say the languageName the language you want the video in.
- Pick the modelRecut suggests dubbing models, with ElevenLabs dubbing first, and shows the price before anything runs. Dubbing is usually priced by the length of the video.
- Run and checkWatch the dubbed version next to the original. Make another language as its own step from the same original.
What Recut does
A dubbing model transcribes the speech, translates it and speaks the translation in a voice made to sound like the original speaker, keeping the timing of the video. Recut finds the model, fills in its settings from what you asked, runs it on your account and saves the result on the timeline.
If the lips noticeably don't match the new language, you can add a lip-sync step that redraws the mouth to follow the dubbed sound.
Recut keeps the original next to every dub, so you can make Spanish, French and German versions of one video as separate steps and compare them, without the dubs affecting each other.
Tips
- Add captions in the new language after dubbing: Recut times them from the dubbed speech.
- Only dub people's voices with their permission.
- Clean up background noise first if the recording is noisy; dubbing models pick up voices more reliably from clear speech.
What it doesn't do
- Translation quality and the list of languages depend on the dubbing model, not on Recut.
- Speech over loud music or several people talking at once may dub less cleanly.
Try it on your own video
